"Lost in Time" is a nicely turned romantic drama, that gives Cecilia Cheung a chance to show how good an actress she actually is. It is nice to see her in a serious role again it has mostly been low fat diet, Hong Kong routine flicks lately.
Ah Man (Louis Koo) is a minibus driver. He has a young son from a failed marriage, but lives with Siu Wai (Cecilia Cheung). At the very beginning of the movie his bus is hit by a truck, and he dies. Siu Wai is now alone with a young boy, not her own but one she loves, nevertheless. Her only option is to get the minibus repaired and become a driver herself. She gets help from one of Ah Mans collegues, Dai Fai (Lau Ching Wan). Will Siu Wai manage despite the odds and will Siu Wai and Dai Fai fall in love? Well, I guess you can figure that out without my help.
The story isnt that special, then. But the film tells it nicely, the actors are convincing, and make you feel the emotions, they are going through. If you see it with a girlfriend, you should be prepared to hand her a kleenex or two, but if youre not completely allergic to strong emotions and romance, both of you will enjoy this one.
Shu Qi fans should note, that Director Derek Yee also directed "Viva Erotica", where she got her first awards (see our main site) and Lau Ching Wan also played a part in "Viva Erotica".
