For a 1998 film this DVD is about as good a one would expect.

Generally the image is not too disagreeable, with strong colors and a nice soft look. Blacks lack definition, but otherwise contrast is good.

However the image is inconsistent. There's some strange shifts in the look, but that's probably inherit in the original photography. Occasionally the colors shift too - within a scene - too much to be on purpose, and other scenes display a faded washed out look.

Subtitles are white with a black edge. Very nice.

The disc contains a small NG footage montage, basically just outtakes with music. There's also a trailer for "Young and Dangerous 5", which of course stars Shu Qi, and for "Anna Magdalena" starring Aaron Kwok, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Kelly Chan, which looked so good that I immediately ordered the DVD. There are also outdated biographies for the stars.
