Very watchable but definitely a below par DVD release from Panorama Distribution.

The soundtrack, available in DTS is vibrant and energetic, but the surround effect often feels forced. The image is slightly unstable, probably a defect of the transfer from film to digital and blacks look faded especially in the very dark scenes.

The extras consists of three trailers - for "Election", "Everlasting Regret" and "Drink Drank Drunk" - and a "Making Of" program. The featurette is a decent mix of talking heads, clips from the film and behind the scenes footage.

These kinds of programs are always fun to watch. Here we get a glimpse of the extensive prosthetic make-up used in the film and we get to see Shu Qi fool around and look as cute as ever. The 20 minute program is subtitled in Chinese only.
